I really didn't think that we would be still working down here

at Bleach Green, nearly a year after the flooding . . . . . . .

But yes, . . . . . . . . . .

Here we are still working on reinstating the farm.

And working to try and make sure it doesn't happen again.

I wish we were finished but it is what it is . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And you have to wait for good people don't you?

Gorgeous builder has put large drains across the drive . . . . . . .

To take the water away from the house . . . . . . . . .

And into the field . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Gorgeous builder has built a wall  . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Across the front of the porch doors . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The gorgeous reclaimed bricks came from a school in Manchester.

They are gorgeous bricks aren't they?

He has put new paving down which is all designed to run into,

a drain in front of the porch . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Nice eh?

We have the gorgeous joiner working on filling all the woodwork

and replacing the rotten wood. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And work has started on the porch at the front . . .

More of the porch refurbishment later . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We still need to paint the outside of the house, and we need a JCB

to change the drive, so the water runs past the house and not into it!!

I am starting to think I can see the finishing line . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ?

We had enough rain here yesterday to sink a battleship........

Today when I walked around the garden you wouldn't have known.

That we all nearly drowned again......................

But yesterday was another of life's roller coaster rides...............

And today all the worry and water had gone....................

Bumble donkey works it out . . . . . . . . . . . .

These are our rescue donkeys . . . . . . . .

Bumble and Dylan . . . . . . . .

(and behind the fence, our horse Whiskers . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)

We foster Bumble and Dylan from the Donkey sanctuary in Devon . . . .

They have lived with us for 12 years . . . . . . . . . .

They are getting old now and are both in their late 30's . . . . .

Dylans legs are a strange shape. . . . . . . . . . . . . . but are still working well!!

On Sunday I put the horse ball in the field for them, it has nuts inside . .

The idea is  . . . . . . that the ball lets out a few donkey treats  . . . .

Each time they push the ball. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I have never given the donkeys the ball before  . . . . . .

They are frightend of buckets or anything that drags across the floor.

Goodness knows what has happened to them in the past. . . . . . .

Well now look at that . . . . . . . .  . . . .

I would have bet money on Dylan donkey working it out first. . . . . . . . . . .

He's the one with the brains, and he is more thoughtful . . . . . .

But each time I pushed it Dylan told me . . . . . . he was going to die!!!!

It was Bumble who worked it out . . . . . . . . . . . .

 He is the quiet, more loving one . . . . . . . .

It was wonderful to see him work it out . . . . . . . .

And it made me smile when I could hear the sound of the ball . . . .

Delivering donkey treats. . . . . . all afternoon!!!!!

We have just had a long weekend at our Lovely Lavender Cottage.

I would like to tell you we spent time lounging . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

In our gorgeous new outdoor dining set . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

(But we didn't) . . . . . . . . . . . . .  .

Well we did sit a while with a cup of coffee . . . . . . . . . . .

After the trauma of putting it all together with an alum key!!

We went beach walking . . . . . . .

We were well prepared . . . . . .  . . . . . .

Mine are the red ones . . . . . . I love red . . . . . .

Red may be my one weakness . . . . . . . .  . . . . . . . . . . .  .

We walked along Sandsend beach . . . . till we found these caves . . . . .

I found myself interested in rock formations . . . . . .

O.M.G. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  . . .

I have reached "THAT AGE" where I find rock formations interesting.

I need to resist  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  . . . .

I don't want rock formations to be my one weakness !!!!!!!!!!!!!
